The question is “Should I buy uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage?”

Our suggestion is YES. Most of states do not require the owners of the motorist to buy this package. Rather than sorry yourself when something happend while the other car’s owner doesn’t carry any coverage or with a minimum coverage, your uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage will cover for yours. This package does not cost a lot, just few $ extra a month but peace of mind.

Uninsured/Underinsured motorist coverage package comes with 2 kinds:

1. Stacked – means multiplying the policy limits by the number of vehicles on the policy.
Example: You buy $10,000 stacked limits and have 3 cars, your uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage is $30,000.

2. Non-stacked – mean not multiplying the limits by the number of vehicles on the policy.
Example: You buy $10,000 non-stacked limits uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage and have 3 cars, then your coverage will be $10,000 of Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage.

Note: Keep in mind that when you buying a full cover package for your car’s insurance, uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage are not always included.
